Quantico Marine Corps base awards contract to CenturyLink

The U.S. Marine Corps Combat Development Command based in Quantico, VA has awarded a two year, $8.5 million contract to CenturyLink to offer support and development services to build its telecommunications infrastructure and voice and data networks. The contract will include the development of the telecommunications infrastructure at both the U.S. Marine Corps Combat Development Command and Marine Corps Barracks located in Washington, D.C.

“CenturyLink is pleased to win this contract to provide voice and data communications services to Marine Corps Base Quantico for the third time,” said Diana Gowen, CenturyLink Government senior vice president and general manager. “We’re proud to continue to deliver first-class voice and data connectivity in support of the Marine Corps’ training and combat development missions.”

CenturyLink has received two contracts in the past for providing telecommunications services for the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, which equates to nearly 12 years of collaboration between both organizations. This new contract will allow CenturyLink to focus on upgrading the telecommunications infrastructure at the base while providing technical support, repair, and troubleshooting services for the facilities and military personnel. Its team of information technology experts will work alongside military personnel to plan and install the telecommunications system for both facilities. These locations include a number of other tenants such as the Marine Helicopter Squadron One, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Navy Criminal Investigations Service. The end result of the contract will be an updated, fully functional telecommunications network that provides voice and data services for both military and civilian personnel working at the facilities.

CenturyLink is a global telecommunications business based in Monroe, LA. It offers telecommunications services to government, business, and residential clients including phone, Internet, and cable services. For more information about CenturyLink, please visit its website at www.CenturyLink.com.
